Donald Shipman "D-Ship"
Birmingham born and raised producer, Donald Shipman has already achieved more in his younger life than most musicians can dream possible. His musical ability is accredited mostly to his family’s musical roots. Coming from a family of singers, it’s not shocking that Donald started playing piano around the young, curious age of 14. He later progressed to organ during his senior year of high school (around age 18). Donald’s humble beginnings started with his home church, Grant Chapel A.M.E. Today, as one of this region’s hottest producers, Donald has put out nothing but the most excellent, quality work that has shaken the charts of iTunes, Amazon, and other digital media outlets. He has performed in Tokyo as well as Hitachi, Japan as well as a tour of Spain that included Mallorca, Madrid and other cities in 2003.
As a producer, Donald has accompanied and produced numerous notable artists and projects including BeBe and CeCe Winans, Norman Hutchins, Natalie Cole, Jonathan Nelson, Mary Mary, Kevin Lemons, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Ricky Dillard, Valerie Smith, “Break Free” Single, and many more!!!! "Holy Fire" produced by Donald as part of the EP Ready feat Curtiss Glenn, charted on Billboard at #4 for Gospel music and the EP Dream by Valerie Smith charted #18 on Billboard as well as won the 2017 Akademia Award for best EP Gospel/Christian category.
